women may sometimes do careless things like misjudge the size of their car, or the size of a gap between cars, but usually Men do reckless careless "daredevil" things like this. That is why statistically our insurance is higher.
I dont really see how this differs that much from everyday traffic here in ATL, GA. People dont really care about the rules if they need to get from Point A to Point B they'll take the shortest route. period.
Not to bash Atlanta, but it IS the only place I've ever been where drivers won't yield to an ambulance, but will practically cause a major crash to pull out of the way of a funeral procession... seen it with my own eyes
I live in New Delhi, and this is standard procedure. For anything. Shortest distance between 2 points. Period. Everyone here expects it, so it's really not a problem. But, in the US, people are used to everyone traveling in the same direction, at approximately the same speed, so you get complacent and relaxed. Thus the problem.

i'm all in favor of aggressive driving, but this is just retarded. why wouldn't you just slowly back up? it would have been quicker, too

if this is standard practise in india that would explain why theres is such a high accident rate.
