Top 5 things I most hate about websites

1. Preventing me from hitting the back button.

Number one on the list has to be websites that prevent me from hitting the back button. I hate having to press it four or five times rapidly to get back to the website I was on. Don't do this to me or I will never visit your website again!

2. Annoying pop-ups or pop-unders where you can't find the close button.

One of the most annoying things which I thought were finally coming to an end, pop-ups and pop-unders where you can't find the close button, or worse still the close button doesn't work or installs spyware on your machine. Don't do this to me, I am on your site to read your content, I will not come back again if you annoy me with these frustating devices.

3. Full page adverts.

Full page adverts or interstitial adverts that appear out of nowhere and actually look like I have been invaded with adware are a definite nightmare of all ads. Don't do this to me, again I am her to read your website and use your content, you have just ruined my browsing experience and I shall think twice before I will be back.

4. Fancy flash sites that take an age to download.

I love your fancy flash site that took an age to download but I haven't seen it because after ten seconds of waiting I was ready to go somewhere else. My time is precious, as with most people and I don't have the patience to wait for your site to load, therefore I will go away and find something better to do with my time and I will miss your work of art. Oh, what a pity.

5. Pages I just can't read.

One of the worst bugbears, sites that use fonts not loaded on my machine, some obscure plug-in that I need to load just to use your site, colours that have such poor contrast that the site is unreadable or worse, a navigation system that is impossible to navigate.
